The Mathematics

CBSE % = Average of Top 5 Subject Percentages

Under the CBSE Best-of-5 rule, the percentage for each subject is computed as (Obtained / Total) × 100. The subjects are then sorted in descending order by percentage, the top 5 are selected, and their average becomes your final CBSE percentage.

How the Best of 5 Rule Works

The CBSE Best of 5 rule is designed to give students the best possible overall aggregate score. If you take 6 subjects, the board will drop the subject with the lowest score from your final percentage calculation, as long as the mandatory subjects are retained.
