Need to check your own roll number first? Open the Pakistan board result quick-link directory — every BISE board (Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Multan, Peshawar, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Quetta, Abbottabad, Mardan, Bannu, Swat, AJK Mirpur and AKU-EB) one click away.
You just got your matric or inter result and your brain is doing that thing — comparing your percentage to your cousin's, then your old classmate's, then a random Twitter screenshot. We have all been there. The problem is that comparing across boards is genuinely meaningless if you do not know what each board's average looks like. An 80% from BISE Karachi is not the same achievement as an 80% from FBISE. Here is the reality. We pulled the official 2024 numbers from every major Pakistan board and built the comparison nobody else bothered with.
The Headline: FBISE Won Again
In SSC 2024, FBISE cleared at 92.61% — the highest pass rate among all major Pakistan boards. BISE Rawalpindi followed at 88.59%, BISE Lahore at 83.91%, BISE Multan at 80.40%, BISE Peshawar at 71.50%, and BISE Karachi (BSEK) at 67.10%. That is a 25-point spread between the top and bottom boards. Not a small variance. Massive.
Use the calculator above for a quick conversion, or open the Matric (SSC) Calculator for proper subject-level breakdowns.
All Major Boards — Side by Side
The math is actually pretty simple. Here is every major board's SSC and HSSC 2024 result in one table.
Pakistan Boards — 2024 Pass Percentages

| BISE Rawalpindi | Punjab | 88.59% | 67.70% |
| BISE Lahore | Punjab | 83.91% | 62.32% |
| BISE Multan | Punjab | 80.40% | 58.20% |
| BISE Peshawar | KPK | 71.50% | 54.80% |

The Trench Truth: Your Percentage Means Different Things on Different Boards
Think of it this way. An 80% from FBISE puts you below FBISE's mean — you are average for that elite cohort. An 80% from BISE Karachi places you in the top 25% because the cohort itself struggled. A perfect score (1100/1100 in matric) is achieved by a few hundred students nationwide each year — that is genuinely top-tier.
So when your aunt at Eid asks "kitne percent aaye?" and then compares it to her son's score from a different board, the comparison is broken. Boards differ that much.
The HSSC Gap Is Brutal
Here is the part nobody warns you about. Every Pakistan board has an HSSC pass rate that is 25–30 points lower than its SSC pass rate. This is consistent across boards.
The reason is structural. HSSC syllabus difficulty is genuinely a step-up. Pre-Medical Biology and Pre-Engineering Mathematics are designed to filter for university admissions, not just to certify completion. Use our Marks Needed Calculator early in your second year to back-solve exactly what you need on the final exams to clear your target percentage. Late prep is the silent killer of HSSC results.
What "Good Marks" Actually Mean by Board
Forget cousin comparisons. Forget WhatsApp forwards. Here is the realistic positioning by board for SSC 2024:
- FBISE: 80%+ is solid (above mean), 90%+ is top 30%, 95%+ (1045/1100) is top 5%
- BISE Rawalpindi: 80%+ is top 40%, 90%+ is top 20%, 95%+ is top 4%
- BISE Lahore: 80%+ is top 35%, 90%+ is top 15%, 95%+ is top 3%
- BISE Karachi: 70%+ is above mean, 80%+ is top 25%, 90%+ is top 7%
A 1050+ score (95.45%+) from any major board is enough for any FSc admission across Pakistan. NUST and LUMS aspirants typically need 90%+ from any board plus strong test scores.
For a deeper look at the FSc system specifically, see our FSc percentage calculation guide. Pre-Medical aspirants should also read our MDCAT aggregate explainer — the weighting matters more than the matric score for medical admissions.
What to Do Next
If you are post-result and trying to figure out where you stand, the Pakistan Board Statistics page has the per-board context.
If you are mid-board-exam, use the Inter (HSSC) Calculator to track each subject contribution against your target. Pair it with the Marks Needed Calculator to back-solve future exam scores.
If you are converting your Pakistan percentage for an international application — most universities in the UK, Australia, and Canada accept a direct percentage-to-degree-class mapping (above 80% = First Class). The GPA Calculator handles 4.0-scale conversions for US universities.
